Similarities and Differences between Journal of "The Use of Story Map in Improving the Year fo Pupil's Ability in Reading Comprehension" with "How Can Student Improve Their Reading Comprehension Skill?"
Hello good
readers, welcome back to my blog. Last time, I was shared my Journal review with
the tittle : The Use of Story Map in Improving the Year Four Pupils’ Ability by
Kee Li Li and Ngo Pei Wen (2017). Today I would like to make a comparison that
journal with the another journal, and the tittle is : How Can Students Improve
Their Reading Comprehension Skill in Reading Comprehension by Abbas
PourhoseinGilakjani (2016). There are similarities and differences between both
of journal.
First, its about
the similarities, the research from both of journal have the same aim that are
to improve student reading skill and student reading comprehension, and they
focussing in how can student understand the literary elements of the text. Both
of journal try to find the way to increas student interest in reading lesson. When
student intrest to reading they will able to understand the literary elements
such as characters, setting, events, moral value, problem, and resolution from
the text. Both of the journals also agree on student should be active in
learning process and teacher have a role as fasilitator. Teachers have
a big responsibility to
motivate their students
in reading these
materials, should be very sensitive to their learners’ comprehension
difficulties, and should help their learners to modify their views towards reading
and have positive attitudes towards their reading activities so that they can
better understand the different texts.
Therefore, in
the first journal the differeces are researcher focus on implementing story map
to improve student reading comprehension and just focus on year four pupils. In
the second journal there are various stategy of reading to improve student
reading comprehension. Here also discussing about Definition of Reading, Definition
of Reading Comprehension, Kinds of Reading, Models of Reading Process, Theories
of Reading Comprehension, Previous Studies about the Relationship between
Reading Strategies and Reading Comprehension Skill. More detail, but the focus
of discussion is not specifics.
I think thats
all, in the next post I will give more specific review about the second
journal. Sorry for mistake and thank you for reading, bye...
