The differencess Educational System between Indonesia and Brunei Darussalam
Assalamu’alaikum..
Hello
my beloved reader, in this post I will invite you to discuss about the differencess
Educational System between Indonesia and Brunei Darussalam.
Indonesia
is the largest archipelago in the world, has tens of thousands of islands from
Sabang to Merauke and from Miangas to Rote. dengan luas wilayah indonesia, Of
course this country has a lot of extraordinary natural resources. But for the
quality of education, Indonesia is still relatively low when compared to other
Southeast Asian countries. This is due to the less than optimal function of the
Indonesian education system. These deficiencies must be improved so that
Indonesian education can immediately have quality human resources, because with
education this country can develop to be better.
Indonesian education level consists of primary school, junior high school and senior high school.
Indonesian education currently uses a national system that includes an open
system, a value-oriented system, a diverse education system, an education
system adapted to changing times and an effective and efficient education
system. To run the system, the government issued a 9-year compulsory education
system system, namely free schools aimed at students at the elementary and
junior high school level. Changes in curriculum from time to time that are
adapted to the current state of education, improve infrastructure, evaluate the
performance of educators etc. With education, Indonesia is expected to be
better and can balance other countries, especially countries within ASEAN.
One
of the countries that are part of ASEAN is Brunei Darussalam, which is a
country known for its prosperity. However, the facilities that were free by the
sultan made the people lazy to learn. This causes Brunei Darussalam to have no
workforce who are skilled in managing the Natural Resources they have.
Brunei
Darussalam's education program is directed to create people who are moral and
religious and master technology. Brunei Darussalam's education applies a
bilingual system, that are English and Malay as a school introduction. Students
have been directed since grade 3 elementary school to master the English
language applied to subjects such as Science, Mathematics, Geography, and History.
This is different from Indonesian education which only uses English for the
subjects itselves. In addition to the bilingual system the Brunei education
system also applies the Malay Islam Beraja concept (MIB) in the school
curriculum, enhancement and development of human resources including vocational
education and engineering. These two systems are expected to improve the
development of quality human resources.
The
Brunei education level includes the following: 7 years of primary level, 3
years of junior high school level, 2 years of senior high school level and 2
years of pre-university level. For the primary and junior secondary levels,
Brunei's education system is not much different from Indonesia. Primary
education aims to provide students with basic skills in writing, reading, and
counting while developing students' personal character development.
After attending 7 years of basic education,
students who pass the final examination can continue their education to junior
high school for 3 years. For students who pass the SLTP final exam, they can
continue their education to senior high school. For high-achieving students who
can take only two years, they can continue their study directly to
pre-university for 2 years to get a Brunei Cambridge Advanced Level Certificate
at AA level. While for students who do not graduate, he must continue his
studies for another year. Students who do not wish to study university can
choose vocational schools such as health nurses, technical and artistic
vocational training, study foreign language courses or can work directly.
That
are the difference between the Indonesian and Brunei Darussalam education
systems that I know based on various sources. I hope my writing can be useful.
